Biography

Amir Motlagh’s body of work includes the feature film whale (2009), Absorbed in Accidents (in post production) short films Plain Us, knock. knock., Still Lover, Dino Adino, Love @ 11:47, tracing the edges, the featurette documentary Pumkin Little, and the short documentary my break ups into a million pieces

He has won multiple awards and has screened his film work at over 50 festivals, theaters, microcinema’s and galleries throughout the world totaling over 100 public screenings.  His films are currently being distributed by Ouat Media, Movieola-The Short Film Channel, CrushedPlanet, MicroCinema Int, and his company AYA Films.

Awards won include, Audience Award -DanceswithFilms, Best Lead Actor-24FPS Festival, Audience Award- YardFest LA, Audience Award-FNS, Top Ten AtomFIlms of 2004.

Along with that, over a dozen video works including  2005’s, Lessons in Self Destruction 1-6, and 2006’s, Amazing Experience Box Set.

Musically, he has released two albums with the band Shanks and the Dreamers, including the full length album, My Darling Dia (2008), and A Day Late: Instrumentals for Illegal Aliens (2007).

He has also been invited to present multi media works in several group art shows including The Seed Gallery, Sol Art Gallery, and Grand Central Art Center.

He's been trained as a professional actor (Stella Adler, Meisner), gotten his MFA in Directing at Chapman University, and a BA in Behavioral Psychology at UCLA.

He assures me that there is more, but its going to get a little boring.
